Ma Belle

I know I haven't posted in a week - Lots to tell but right now we're busy with this little girl.

Belle went into labor yesterday. Jay delivered her first this morning, unfortunately breech and still born. He got her to the Vet. who was able to save one of the two remaining kids. Belle's a bit traumatised, as you would think. Now it's just a matter of getting baby to nurse or we'll be bottle feeding. Come on kid!

"Come on Kid" I like that. It's really something that only one of the kids survived out of the litters. Do you call them litters? This baby is as cute as can be. I hope Belle is up to being a mother. It's a hard job, trust me, I know :)

So cute. My Grandparents had twins every year...I loved going to the farm in anticipation waiting to see when they would be born...

Oh she's so sweet!
How often do goats have triplets? I thought they were pretty much singular birthers.
I'm sorry about the other two -- so hard on you and Jay.

Ah, just too cute for words. :-)

I don't mean to be a downer, but man, being a farmer is so sad. Did the vet tell you why the mortality rate for baby goats was so high?
Was it the twin factor?

On the other side of the coin...woooo! your life sure is exciting compared to mine :)

I wish I was somewhere else right now, seeing newborn babies.

Luv me

Answer from your post on my blog...

If you get a barn, you can sell animals. A house doesn't really do anything yet. It's supposed to sometime in the future tho. I'd buy a farm, a woodshed (then you can sell trees if you want) and then you need a chicken coop too. You can sell chickens then. They have a lot of new houses now.

I'm so excited for you...your baby is adorable. Have you named her yet? Just be really gentle, keep her warm and well fed and she should be fine. I know you're going to be nervous tho...they're so tiny!! :)

Hang in there and enjoy the new baby!
